Charismatic Theology and the Holy Spirit

#biblestudy #jesus #holyspirit #baptismoftheholyspirit #speakingintongues #pentecostal #charismatic #bible #bibleverseoftheday #bibleverse #jesus #biblestudy #jesuschrist

You will be confronted with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit by someone. Watch two former Charismatics wrestle with the "preset doctrines" of Charismatic and Pentecostal theology. But what does the Bible say? That is all we care about.

You could be taught to speak in tongues as evidence of the Holy Spirit for you to be saved. Did you catch that? Taught how to speak in tongues. Wasn't that gift a supernatural sign gift? Are there private prayer languages that some people have and others do not? And if so, what was the answer to your prayer if you do not know what you are praying? "Well, Ric, what about 1 Cor 14:2 says that people speak mysteries? There is another interpretation.

BTW, please do not dismiss us as anti-Holy Spirit because we disagree with what you were taught. Many of the promises of charismatic theology of hearing from God and using our gifts and hope for revival have all happened outside of the Charismatic theology. Join us.

Thanks again! Really helpful to hear the distinction between being given authority to do as the disciples were verses us displaying His authority by acting under it. It’s like we have to disappear verses they had to show up. It’s a subtle but very important distinction. We’re both doing His will, but called to step up or step down to do it is huge difference. I’m glad for us we can rest and trust. It just suits the times we’re living in. It’s how we show Jesus authority as well, but in a different situation. It’s perfect how God does things. Jesus can only be seen today by us revealing Him by doing His will while also somehow getting out of the way so others can see Him. They had eye witness accounts for credibility. We have only faith. Just helps me feel convicted in what I think is our clear calling to be ready for Him to do by faith instead of us trying to do by faith. He knows how to keep us on the narrow path and humble. We cannot handle the authority He gave them I don’t think. He also has to reveal Himself through us differently because we haven’t seen Him yet. We should not underestimate the power in our own calling because that’s really a beautiful thing we have been given to do too. It’s amazing and miraculous in its own way. The Charismatic Movement does seem to cross the line into demanding He do for us. It’s an on our terms approach it seems to me. I just think what you bring up is key in understanding the unholy spiritual manifestations we’re seeing that are being called works of God. They’re trying to act in an authority He didn’t give us and immediately opens people up to being used by the enemy. Then, at the same time we’re trying to act in an authority He didn’t give us, we are not acting in the authority He did give us and called us too. Being faithful and ready to do whatever He wills, not knowing exactly what that may be but accepting it in faith, hope, and love is not a calling to scoff at. Our God only does great things. We just seem to have in our own mind that some things He does aren’t as great as they truly are I think. Faith is really amazing and miraculous because it’s all about Him. We should know we will do great things if we have Him and follow Him, but we shouldn’t assume the authority to dictate to Him what they have to look like or be. I’m telling you people of God, you are doing something mighty if you are faithful whether you see it ir not. Praise God for His perfect ways.
