I can't imagine how Jacob must have felt. He sent his son out to his brothers, I wonder if that thought tormented him. The thought and image of your baby being ripped to pieces is sad. The brother's were saw caught up in their feelings about Joseph that they did not take the Father of their brother into consideratoin. How would their Dad, mothers, and sisters respond? They hated the revelation God gave Joseph so much that they selfishly cast him away. 

 

If anything the errornious message that is applied to Jacob, the God used a screw up narrative, would apply to the brothers. They were not cut out from the nation of Israel but became tribes. God can make all things work together for His good. But, that does not by any means suggest that the brothers were anything next to right. 

This shadows Jesus. Jesus came into the world to save and redeem it. Joseph would be a savior to the world (Egypt). Joseph's rejection by his own brothers and suffering in the world shadows Jesus' rejection by his brothers and suffering in the world. 

There was no revelation. The brothers cast in to the pit because they hated the revelation God had given to Joseph. 

I wonder why Jacob reacted like he did. Most people say because he was in the flesh, I guess that makes sense but if Jacob was in tune with the things of God why did he respond like that in the last verse? I figure he knew it was of some importance because he didn't write it off but took heed to its implications and preserved it. 

Maybe Jacob and Rachel (?) are the sun and the moon. But, Rachel wasn't alive for any of this, so maybe the other wives or the one (s) remaining when this came to pass would be the moon in the scenario. 

Who are the sun and the moon? I know the stars are his brothers, but who are the sun and moon representatives of?

I have a question that has always troubled me. I'm looking at Revelation 13 and 14. Are believers still in the world during the mark of the beast because it seem like this is what leads to much of the satanic tribulation for us as those who refuse it? That's the sense I come away with based on these chapters. The issue with that then is that no one who receives the mark can be saved. (Rev 14:10-11). That then doesn't fit in with the remnant and the hope for those saved post-tribulation. I have conflicting understandings it seems based on these chapters. I need to understand if we will be here during the mark of the beast. Is that a major factor in how we are killed off? And then, if these are correct, how is anyone saved after the rapture? I'm not understanding the timing of the mark or how it is anyone is saved after the rapture if it is before it.
