How awesome and powerful must Yehoveh's appearance and Voice must've been to those that experienced it that day, that they would fear their own death if he continued speaking and commanding them Himself from the mountain top!

How clear can this get?

Six days we can labor and do all our work, but the 7th day is the Sabbth to God

Definition of labor:
abad: to work (in any sense); by implication

I am taking a world religion class. They are attempting to show me how many religions sprout from another. I am having an issue with this statement. Can anyone tell me if they know anything about this? Zoroastrianism comes out of an Indigenous religion that was based on sacrifice. This Indigenous religion may have the same roots as the one that Hinduism emerged from in India. Zoroastrianism influenced the development of Judaism, which was the foundation of the emergence of Christianity. Christianity was also influenced by the ideas of a judgement of the soul and resurrection of the body that were found in Zoroastrianism.

The Lord is showing that those who see he is their with them have no need to mourn or fast as they are communing with him. The Pharisees and Disciples of John were fasting probably out of religious works as they could not see they could rest in Christ during that time.  How easy it is to find idols to work for in the name of doing Gods work. Yet the ones who recongized they were sinners and Christ had something to offer them were the ones dining and drinking and having relationship with him.

Do I let my religious works and everyday life come between my relationship with God? If so, I will lose sight and become blind to the fellowship I need with Christ. )

Hi Everyone! This is our Christmas reflections. For us Christmas is about the coming of our Lord and the story that makes the story. It is: The Birth of Christ. The death of Christ. The cause? Unrepentant sin. https://biblestudycompany.com/blog/article/101 Please consider supporting BSC this year with a monthly contribution.
