First instance we see the power of God's WORD. God spoke, and it became. Two happenings. Jesus is here; the Spirit of God. I believe more than 2; even all 3 present here at Creation. His ways are higher than ours; we are not able to understand all the mysteries of God and we were never meant to. Just phenomenal.

God the Father created. In this verse, the Spirit of God moved. A distinction made by using specific descriptors, the Spirit of God being Jesus/the Holy Spirit (?). Cross Reference John 1:1.

Points of study:

*Jesus was the Word which is also described as the Spirit of God, BY which God spoke (?) BY which all things were made that hath been made. (Jn 1:1) (Col 1:16-17)

*The Spirit of God hovered (God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are a triune being yet three distinct persons)

*Jesus had to come, die, and be resurrected for the Holy Spirit to then be available as it is today. It wasn't the same in the Old Testament, in the time of the Prophets. (Jn 16:7)

*David spoke in the Spirit (Mt 22:43) and Jesus referenced that fact.

The unforgivable sin. The blasphemy against the perfectly pure Holy Spirit. The unforgivable sin presented here in intensity and holiness to show it is of like supremacy and level of Jesus, therefore God, illustrating the Trinity.

This is part two of the Men's Bible Study, where we discuss that Matthew 5 is the proper response to the 10 commandments. Meaning that the 10 commandments call for perfection, as Christ said in Matthew 5:48. When we recognize our sin, our posture towards sin is shown in Matthew 5. But when Christ came, He provided us His perfection because He is God in the flesh and could fulfill our sin debt required by the law. He said, "I have come to fulfill the law...". But if we approach the law as an outward to-do list versus asking the Lord for help to see our sin and sin motives, we are not using the law correctly or, as Paul said, not "lawfully". We must depend on Christ and HIS PERFECTION and place our full weight and trust in Him as Messiah because of His death, burial, and resurrection, which is the Gospel. 1 Cor 15:1-6 Everyone must cry out to Christ for salvation. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. Romans 10:1-3 If you need help, let us know. We would love to talk to you about His glorious salvation and becoming born again. Enjoy our Study. https://biblestudycompany.simplecast.com/episodes/10-commandments-and-beatitudes-part-2
