A primitive root; to search out (by any method, specifically in worship or prayer); by implication, to strive after -- ask, beg, beseech, desire, enquire, get, make inquisition, procure, (make) request, require, seek (for).
KJV: That which was torn of beasts I brought not unto thee; I bare the loss of it; of my hand didst thou require it, whether stolen by day, or stolen by night.
NASB: "That which was torn of beasts I did not bring to you; I bore the loss of it myself. You required it of my hand whether stolen by day or stolen by night.
KJV: And a certain man found him, and, behold, he was wandering in the field: and the man asked him, saying, What seekest thou?
