A primitive root; properly, to irradiate (or shoot forth beams), i.e. To rise (as the sun); specifically, to appear (as a symptom of leprosy) -- arise, rise (up), as soon as it is up.
KJV: And as he passed over Penuel the sun rose upon him, and he halted upon his thigh.
NASB: Now the sun rose upon him just as he crossed over Penuel, and he was limping on his thigh.
