Of Latin origin; Cornelius, a Roman -- Cornelius.
KJV: There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
NASB: Now there was a man at Caesarea named Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian cohort,
KJV: He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.
NASB: About the ninth hour of the day he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God who had just come in and said to him, "Cornelius!"
KJV: Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made inquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,
NASB: Now while Peter was greatly perplexed in mind as to what the vision which he had seen might be, behold, the men who had been sent by Cornelius, having asked directions for Simon's house, appeared at the gate;

NASB: They said, "Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous and God-fearing man well spoken of by the entire nation of the Jews, was divinely directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and hear a message from you."
KJV: And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.
NASB: On the following day he entered Caesarea. Now Cornelius was waiting for them and had called together his relatives and close friends.
