KJV: And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born.
NASB: The commander answered, "I acquired this citizenship with a large sum of money." And Paul said, "But I was actually born a citizen."
KJV: Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.
NASB: And Paul said, "I was not aware, brethren, that he was high priest; for it is written, 'YOU SHALL NOT SPEAK EVIL OF A RULER OF YOUR PEOPLE.'"
KJV: Then Paul called one of the centurions unto him, and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain: for he hath a certain thing to tell him.
NASB: Paul called one of the centurions to him and said, "Lead this young man to the commander, for he has something to report to him."
