From demo (to build); properly, an edifice, i.e. (specially) a roof -- housetop.
KJV: What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
NASB: "What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops.
KJV: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
NASB: "Whoever is on the housetop must not go down to get the things out that are in his house.
KJV: And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
NASB: "The one who is on the housetop must not go down, or go in to get anything out of his house;
KJV: And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.
NASB: But not finding any way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down through the tiles with his stretcher, into the middle of the crowd, in front of Jesus.
KJV: Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
