Neuter of a derivative of pelas (near); (adverbially) close by; as noun, a neighbor, i.e. Fellow (as man, countryman, Christian or friend) -- near, neighbour.
KJV: Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
NASB: "You have heard that it was said, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.'
KJV: Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
